Lawyer / International Child Abduction

International Child Abduction – Immediate Action Is Essential
A child taken or retained abroad without your consent is an absolute emergency.
Every hour that passes reduces your chances of securing the child’s return.
These proceedings fall under the Hague Convention. They are technical, fast-moving, and unforgiving. Without immediate action, the situation may become permanently entrenched.
For nearly 30 years, I have acted to secure the return of children to France or to prevent unjustified returns.
My objective is clear: regain control of the situation immediately.
An Emergency Strategy in 4 Steps
1. Immediate and Comprehensive Case Preparation
Within hours, we assemble a complete file: court decisions, identity documents, proof of residence in France, communications, and evidence relating to the risks involved.
No document is secondary. Every detail matters.
2. Activation of the Authorities
I initiate proceedings without delay: public prosecutor’s office, central authority, and consular authorities.
Criminal complaints where necessary.
The objective is to immediately activate the international judicial process.
3. Judicial Action
Urgent applications before the French courts: family court judge, travel bans, registration on wanted persons databases.
At the same time, legal action is initiated to obtain the child’s return.
4. Action in the Country of Retention
The outcome is also decided abroad.
I activate a lawyer from my local network to bring proceedings before the competent courts and obtain a return order as quickly as possible.
If You Are Accused of Wrongful Removal
You must react immediately. A delayed defense may expose you to the near-automatic return of the child.
I organize a proactive defense strategy: negotiation where appropriate, or reliance on the exceptions provided by the Hague Convention:
-
serious risk to the child,
-
integration into the new environment,
-
the child’s objection,
-
failure to effectively exercise custody rights.
The objective is to prevent a return contrary to the child’s best interests.
Immediate Intervention
I represent you in France and abroad through my international network, at every stage of the proceedings.
My firm is structured to intervene 7 days a week.
In these cases, waiting means losing ground.
Fast and controlled action can make the difference between the return of your child and an irreversible situation.
